Being Wizzy

Being wizzy:The childhood years

Now that you all know how I was born now it is time to move on to my childhood. I grew up in Baltimore Maryland where I was born. I grew up in  Canton a small neighborhood right outside of downtown Baltimore. When I was younger Canton was very small. It was kind of like living in a small town. Everyone knew everyone and everyone knew EVERYTHING! The families had been in the same neighborhood for generations. My mom, uncles, and aunt all grew up in the same neighborhood and same house I was raised in. When my mom got married they moved in next door to my grandparents. When my "father" left he took everything even the pictures on the walls. Having nothing left we moved back into the house where my mother was raised. Growing up my house was crazy crowded! I lived with my two uncles, my mom, my grandparents, and my aunt. There where 7 people crowded into a 3 bedroom one bath row home. No counting all the pets we had. We always at least had three dogs. It was very crowded in the house. It always felt like we where on top of each other. Do you realize how painful having one bathroom with 7 people is?! There was absolutely no type of privacy. I never had my own room. I always shared a room with someone.

                                                          Family during my childhood

My family is full of love but it is also full of issues. Now my family is heavily medicated but before that thing we're crazy! Like living in a mental hospital kind of crazy. There was a lot of verbal and mental abuse all through my family growing up. A lot of screaming and argueing. There was getting in peoples faces and bunching holes in walls. My uncles fought a lot. They fought about everything and anything. It was like everyone had to tip toe on eggshells when in the house. It was very uncomfortable. Also there was a lot of drinking in my childhood. Alcoholism runs through my family. My family has a lot of issues but we had some good times through all the madness. I spent a lot of time with my uncle and my aunt growing up. They use to take me everywhere with them. My favorite thing was our mall trips. We would go the white marsh mall on the weekends. We would go shopping then stop to get something to eat. My favorite place to shop was limited too and my favorite place to eat was friendlys! Even though my family life growing up wasn't ideal I was very loved. I was very taken care of. Dispite the issues and the argueing my family would do anything for me and made sure I had everything I ever needed or wanted.

                                                             My childhood friendships

I had a lot of friends in my childhood. Canton was small so all the Families knew each other and all the kids played together. All my friendships where just blocks away. It was a great experience being able to walk to my friends house everyday and go meet up at the park that was just right around the corner from my house. It was a time of innocence and happiness. We all got along and the best times we all had was swinging on the swings. It was truly freedom to us. I had three best friends during my childhood. My first best fiend was Samantha. I'm not even totally sure how we met. We where super close like sisters. She would spend months at my house and go on vacations with us. We went to school together. My mom put us in dance together. She even would dress us up like. We where just like twins. We never spent a moment apart. We where attached at the hip till her family moved to Gorgia. My second best friend was Mindy. I bet her through my other best friend Claire. I met Mindy a little later in my childhood but we where very close. She was always over my house and we went to cool together. My mom always took us on trips to the zoo and the beach. Just my luck Mindy and her family moved to Florida! Unlike Sam living I remember Mindy living very clearly. I remember out last day hanging out and hugging her goodbye. I remember waving out the window till I couldn't see her anymore when we dropped her off . My third best friend was Claire. Our parents when to school together and they grew up together so we where like built in friends. Claire was special. Everyone kind of picked on her and didn't like her. I felt sorry for her and took her under my wing as a big sister. I was her only friends. I would pretty much go up to her house every weekend. I saw her family as my own. I was super close with her mom. I called her mom aunt.  We grew up in Canton together our whole lives just blocks away from each other. We stayed friends past our childhoods into our adulthoods. I also had dance friendships. My aunt put me in dance when I was very young. I was super shy so they thought dance would help me blossom. I dance with the same group of girls pretty much the whole time I danced so we all became good friends. My best friend from dance was Chelsea. Our families became really good friends. One summer instead of going to summer school Chelsea's mom tutored me. So I went over there everyday! That's when me and Chelsea became really close! I remember always spending the night over her house on the weekends. Yet again my best friend moved away. They moved up to thermont maryland. After the moved we went up to visit all the time but as time went on and we became teenagers sadly me and Chelsea spoke less and less. I still speak to most of my childhood friends from time to time through mainly through social media.

                                                                 Dealing with lose

Death was something I really had to deal with early in my childhood. When I was 7 years old I lost my best friend from school. Her name was Hanna. She had the biggest heart and the most beautiful soul. She was the nicest kid you could ever meet. One weekend a girl in our class was having a birthday party at chucke cheese. Her mom was supposed to pick me up but I got sick that weekend. They stopped to get gas and when leaving the gas station their car was hit by a speeding car. Hannah hit every door before flying out the front video. She was dead on the scene. She was the only one who died in the car that day. Her mom and both little sisters survived the crash. I remember my grandfather came home and was telling me how important a seat was because a little girl my age had just died. We didn't know at that time it was Hanna. On Monday I was home kick when my grandma told me the news. My best friend was gone. I remember crying and crying. It was hard going back to school. I remember the news coming to interview us about Hanna. I remember her little sister Lucy crying for me at school. She was a grade below us. She would get so upset that I had to sit with her. That was the hard part. Helping someone deal when I didn't know how to deal my self.  I still think about and pray to Hanna everyday. That was my first heartbreak. We all miss her so much. Even though she isn't with me she has gotten me through my hardest times. With her guidance I am on the right path in life.

                                                             Me during my childhood

I was super shy when I was younger!  I had to really get to know someone till I felt comfortable around them. I didn't talk a lot. I was very quiet and stayed to myself. Even though I was so young I knew I didn't wanna let myself get too close to anyone. It is so sad but I got used to people leaving. My father left. My best friends left. Everyone I let myself get close to left me. It hurt and for the longest time that stuck with me. So I learned to stay to myself and only let people know what I wanted them to know. It was a very lonely time in my life. But my struggles made me who I am today. I learned young who to trust and who not to. I think it made me even more into the old soul that I am today.

Love is on review!

   Revlon love is on collection

Hello lovers! To those visiting my blog for the first time welcome everyone! To those  who have read my blog before welcome back my loves! As you all know we are in the month of February! The month of love! Speaking of love! This weekend is valentines day! In the spirit of Valentine's Day today will be a first impression/review for the new revlon "love is on" collection. I'm sure you have all seen the commercial! The commercial is very sensual. I love it! This collection is perfect for the season of love. This whole collection is about love. Revlon even made a hashtag!  If you posted a picture with your love and used the hashtag #loveison you could end up on the Revlon website, I will not lie I was totally on the #loveison train. I posted a few on my instagram. I thought that was so cute of them. So onto my first impression/review on this collection. First of I love the packaging! They have this whole diamond thing going on. The collection consisted of two new lip products. One is a lipstick and one is a lip lacquer (lipgloss). They are both called Revlon ultra  HD. I got several of each. In the lip lacquer I got 510 Tourmaline, 560 fire opal, 555 amber, 530 rose quartz, 545 carnelian, 515 pink ruby, and 520 pink sapphire. In the lipstick I got 875 gladiolus, 815 sweet pea, 845 peony, 820 petunia, and 840 poinsettia. I love all the colors! They are so romantic. Beautiful reds and sweet pinks. I am not normally a huge fan of lip lacquer or lip gloss but I am so glad I tried these! If you are a female you know this lip gloss struggle! Hair always getting stuck in your gloss but not with this product. They go on like a lip gloss but turn matte as it drys. No more sticky struggle!  It is fantastic! It isn't sticky or heavy. It stays soft all through out the day and doesn't become drying. The colors are vibrant and last all day! I never had to tough up my lips trough out the day. The lipstick was a lot like the lip lacquer. It went on really soft like butter then dried to a matte finish. It goes on super smooth and felt weightless through out the day. The colors where soft and romantic. Unlike the lip lacquer the lipstick did come off when I ate or drank anything. So I did have to reapply ever once and a while. Another thing I didn't like about the lipstick was it had a rounded tip unlike a classic lipstick that has like a pointed tip. To me the lipstick was a little hard to apply. I ordered these from Ulta.com but you can find them at any drug store. The lip lacquer is $9.99 a piece and the lipstick is $9.99 a piece. Well worth the price! If you are looking for beautiful romantic kissable lips for your valentines date pick up these products you will look stunning! My rating is 10 out of 10 do recommend! CHECK OUT THE PICTURES BELOW!! THANKS FOR READING!!!

My Must Reads!

                                                     WIZZY'S MUST READS

I am a proud book worm! One of my favorite times of day is right before bed when me and the hubby settle down and we read. Sometimes he'll read to me till I drift of the dream land. It is so relaxing to cuddle up with my man, my hot cup of tea, and a good read. A love for reading comes from both sides of our family. On my side of the family is my mother who can finish any book in less then a week! On my hubby side of the family his father and step mom are the book worms. Their living room is books from wall to wall! When my hubby was younger he would get a dollar every time he finished a book. When I was younger I had a much harder time reading. I have dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning disorder where words and numbers get all jumbled up. Dyslexia didn't get me down! I still kept reading because I loved it so much. I have come across some great read so I wanted to share them with ya'll! If you have a favorite book or auther let me know in the comments!

  1. Paranoid Park by Blake Nelson :PARANOID PARK is a dark and intense psychological thriller of a novel that puts a normal teen in a very difficult situation.

Written as a confessional letter, it starts after a fateful night at a Portland, Oregon skatepark known as "Paranoid Park." Paranoid is "an underground 'street' park, which means there are no rules, nobody owns it, and you don't have to play to skate." But Paranoid is also "kind of a street-kid hangout. There's all these stories, like how a skinhead got stabbed there on ce. That's why it's called Paranoid Park. It has a dangerous, sketchy vibe to it."

After going to Paranoid Park with his older friend Jared, the narrator (who remains unnamed throughout the book) is enthralled by the experience. Skating at Paranoid meant you were in the "big leagues." The boys planned to return to the skatepark together that weekend, but plans changed when a college girl invited Jared to a party. Still lured by the thrillride of Paranoid, the narrator returns on his own.

At the park, the narrator finds himself hanging out with a "streeter" named Scratch and a bunch of other street-kid types. Scratch tells stories about how he lived up and down the West Coast, hopping trains and living in bus stations. Somehow, our "prep" narrator gets talked into hopping a local train with Scratch and the evening turns into even more of an adventure. The fun stops abruptly when a security guard gets thrown in the mix and a teenage adventure becomes the cause of a crime.

With a dead body and no witnesses, the narrator is paralyzed with fear. What should he do? Who will he tell? Will anyone believe him that this truly was an accident? Trapped by his own paranoia and the possible consequences of one night on the rest of his life, the narrator spends the remainder of the novel in a CRIME AND PUNISHMENT-like dilemma.
  2. Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen: Halley was named for her grandmother, who was named for the comet. Scarlett, across the street, was named for you-know-who. Both are "onlies," just turning sixteen, and have been best friends, almost-sisters since they were eleven. Then Michael, the boy to whom Scarlett lost her virginity only the night before, is killed in a car wreck and -- you guessed it -- she's pregnant. Her mother also had gotten pregnant in high school and (fortunately for Scarlett) had kept the baby, and now she decides to do the same. Meanwhile, Halley is getting more and more involved with Macon, Michael's dangerous buddy, who wants more than she's ultimately willing to give. The nine months of Scarlett's pregnancy is the backdrop for a very well-written story about love and sex and real friendship and dealing with parents. And the final scene, in the hospital waiting room, is very cinematic
  3. The harry potter series by j.k rowling : Harry potter is a boy who finds out he is really a wizard and you read through is adventures at Hogwarts. Hogwarts is a school for witches and wizards.
  4. The Carrie Dierys by Candace Bushnell: The Carrie Diaries is the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation. Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small-town girl who knew she wanted more. She's ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend's betrayal makes her question everything.
  5. Letting Go by Domino: Pregnant at 17 with no family or support, Shawna's life has been turned upside down. She now has a big decision to make, for her and the well being of her unborn child.
  6. The Clockwork angel series by Cassandra Clare: In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them....
  7. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

Our first car!!!

OUR FIRST CAR!

This blog is a reaaallly long time coming! I have just been so busy with life that I haven't done much blogging at all lately! :(

WE GOT A CAR! We bought our very first car this past may. We really had no idea what all went into buying a car and we hit a few road blocks along the way. First we had to save up the money. Then we needed to find insurance. Finally we needed to pick and buying a car

Saving for a car

We saved for a about a year for our car. This part is very hard! Charlie and I mostly support our selves and each other financially. Some people don't know how lucky they are to be given a car as a gift or have help paying for it. It took us a little longer then we wanted to save up because we do have bills and other needs. We managed to save up a little over 3,000 for our car by may. That is usually about how much a down payment will cost so inc we saved up enough for a down payment we started looking into car insurance.

Finding out first car

We where very smart when looking for our first car. We did A LOT  of research! We spend hours on line searching different websites and looking up all the car facts. We knew right away we wanted a use car with not a lot of miles on it. The less car accidents and issues the better. At first we wanted a kia soul. However after doing some research, watching some youtube videos, and reading some reviews we found out that the kia felt very boxy to drive. So we decided to look into other car types. We finally found our car on carmax.com! A white 2003 oldmobile alero for 7,000. The price was  perfect for us. The car facts looked great. One other owner and it had no past accidents. It only had 81,000 miles on it. We totally fell in love! Now our next step was to find some car insurance that we could afford.

CAR INSURANCE

Car insurance was a huge pain for us. Most people are ages are on their parents insurance or have been driving long enough to get a cheap rate. Charlie is a new driver and I still just have my learners so insurance was ridiculously high for us. We went to a bunch of places such as Allstate, state farm, etc and the rate for full cover was way more then we could manage right now. At first we only wanted to put a down payment on the car but to do that we would need full coverage. We decided we would have to pay a car in full to be able to afford insurance. It was very depressing and super bummed us out. It took us so long to get to the point where we had enough money saved up to put a down payment of a car. We where so excited and ready to start the car buying process. Then we hit this huge rode block it was heart breaking! We needed a car and we needed a plan. We talked through many plans with our families. Hope was not lost! We finally came up with a plan that worked for us! We would pay for our down and get help from Charlie's dad and step mom. We of course would pay them back as soon as we had the money! This was such a blessing! We are so thankful to them for helping us out! We really could have done it with out them! Once we had a plan we decided to get liability car insurance from geico.

Buying our car!!

Now that we had the car insurance taken care of there was just one thing left to do!!! Finally going to buy our first car. We went to carmax in white marsh Maryland. It is about 20 min from where we live. It was really surprisingly a easy and smooth process. Charlie was super nervous about the test drive so he let his dad drive the car but he rode along for the test drive. They where out for a test drive roughly 30 min. The car ran great. The next step was payment and a whole lot a paper work. The whole process took about 2 hours. After everything was signed and paid for they handed us the keys! An amazing feeling! We finally had our own car that we worked really hard for. We had freedom and a whole lot of adventures ahead of us. Charlie's dad had to show us how all the buttons and such worked. Then we where off with a car of our very own!

Our advice to first car buyers!

Our advice for you is to  first save save SAVE! If you are looking to buy a car and you aren't getting any help from your parents the first step is to at least save up for a down payment on a car. That means at least saving $3,000. Save as much as you can anywhere you can save it. Then once you have enough in the bank for a down payment time to crack open Google and do as much research as you can! Find out what car works for you then get as much background on that car as you can. Look up the car facts, read reviews, and watch reviews. After you have done you research find a car insurance plan that works for you. If something doesn't work out the first try don't get discouraged. Just come up with another plan. Remember a car is a lot of responsibility! Be smart behind the wheel! A text message can wait and never get behind the wheel if you have been drinking. Never drive faster then your angel can fly. Thanks for reading! I hope you found this helpful! Good luck!
